We are proud to announce that Santana Motors — one of the most prestigious brands in the history of the European off-road automotive sector — has selected Interactive SPares as its official platform for managing spare parts sales, warranties, and after-sales services across its entire global distribution network. This partnership highlights what a cloud-based platform can deliver to the automotive industry when a manufacturer demands reliability, global reach, and the highest-quality user experience for both its dealer network and end customers.
A Legend reborn: The Story of SANTANA
Few names in the global automotive landscape carry the same weight of history, resilience, and reinvention as Santana Motors.
Founded in 1956 in Linares, Andalusia, under the name Metalúrgica de Santa Ana, the company was born out of an ambitious Spanish industrial plan aimed at transforming a rural region through manufacturing. What began as a producer of agricultural machinery would later evolve into one of the world’s most respected off-road vehicle manufacturers.
1956Born in Linares
Metalúrgica de Santa Ana was founded in Linares, in the province of Jaén, with the initial goal of producing components for tractors and agricultural machinery. The plant quickly became a cornerstone of Andalusia’s industrial sector, eventually employing up to 5,000 workers.1958The agreement with Land Rover
A historic licensing agreement with the British manufacturer Land Rover transformed the company into a full-fledged vehicle producer. The first Land Rover Santana 4×4 vehicles rolled off the production line in Linares, adapted to the specific demands of the Spanish market and export destinations. The Series II and Series III versions became legendary for their durability and ruggedness. At the peak of production, the factory assembled up to 30,000 vehicles per year, exporting to more than 50 countries across Europe, South America, and Africa. The Spanish Army became one of its main customers1968Technical independence
Renamed Land Rover Santana, the company began developing its own engines and components, often surpassing the original British specifications in terms of performance and modernity. By the early 1980s, the Spanish-built models featured more advanced equipment than their counterparts from the UK — a remarkable industrial achievement.1985New Partners, New Models
As Land Rover moved toward direct competition in the market, Santana Motors formed a new alliance with Suzuki. The iconic Samurai, Vitara, and Jimny models were produced under license in Linares for the European market, while Santana simultaneously developed derivative vehicles such as the Santana 300/350. Suzuki eventually acquired control of the company, before later strategically withdrawing from the partnership.2011Own models and closure
Santana Motors launched the PS-10 / Aníbal — a fully in-house off-road design, free from any Land Rover licensing constraints — and later co-produced the Iveco Massif and the Fiat Campagnola. Despite these efforts, market challenges led to the closure of the Linares plant in February 2011. The JPG Group later acquired the intellectual property rights of the brand and continues to supply genuine spare parts for vehicles still in operation.2026The rebirth
Santana Motors S.L. is established through a collaboration between the JPG Group and the Chinese industrial partners Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile and Anhui Coronet. In October 2025, production resumes at the historic Linares plant with the Santana 400 — available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and diesel versions, featuring standard all-wheel drive. The new era of Santana is aimed at Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Santana Motors is back — and this time it has chosen Interactive Spares as its global technology partner for after-sales services.

What SANTANA needed: a platform worthy of its ambition
Reviving a global automotive brand after more than a decade of silence is not only a production challenge — it is a challenge of logistics, data, and customer experience.
Santana Motors had to support owners of its historical models while simultaneously activating a worldwide dealer network for the new Santana 400 range.
The requirements were demanding: a cloud-based, dealer-oriented platform capable of managing an interactive electronic parts catalog (EPC), processing warranty claims, handling service tickets, and enabling direct online spare parts sales — all within a single integrated environment, accessible from any device, in any country, and in any language.
When a manufacturer with the history and global reach of Santana Motors chooses a platform, it is not just a commercial milestone — it is validation of every architectural decision made in building Interactive SPares for OEMs that take their operations seriously.
